
Doctoral Student Awards in Nutrition Education and Communication 2010
The Danone Institute provides awards to support the training of outstanding doctoral students in research areas consistent with its mission and mandate. Successful recipients must be full-time students registered in a doctoral program at a Canadian institution and conducting research in areas of nutrition education and communication. Doctoral Student Awards will be $21,000 CDN per annum tenable for up to 2 years duration, renewable each year by the Doctoral Student. The Doctoral student must follow the same application procedures than for the first application.Applicants must be Canadians citizens or permanent residents of Canada. When grant are awarded, the laureate must register on the Danone Institute International web site, www.danoneinstitute.org.
Evaluation criteria will include academic excellence of the candidate, quality of the research project, and caliber of the mentorship and research environment. Students wishing to submit their application must do so before April 1st 2010.
Application procedures
- A written letter of intention to apply by the candidate. This letter should describe the strengths of the candidate in relation to the area of nutrition education and communication.
- Two pages summary of research program to be undertaken during the doctoral degree including title, statements of rationale, objectives and anticipated significance of expected findings.
- Curriculum vitae of applicant.
- Academic transcripts of applicant.
- Two letters of reference, preferably from past professors or employers.
- Shorten C.V. of supervisor.
- A letter from supervisor describing financial resources available to applicant at present and for year 2008-2009, specifying end date of current funding, if any.
Stapled documents should be written on 8.5x11 paper, with a font 12 and 2.5 cm margins. They should not exceed a maximum of 30 pages.
