Our mission and mandate
The Danone Institute of Canada is a non-profit foundation created in January, 1998. Funded by the Danone Inc. company, it is administered by an independent Board of Directors and Scientific Council. The Danone Institute's mission is to improve the health and well being of Canadians through better nutrition. It's mandate is to promote nutrition behaviour change in the general public, in vulnerable populations with an emphasis on childhood nutrition. The institute fulfills this mandate through.
- Support of research focused on factors leading to improved nutrition behaviour change, particularly during pregnancy, infancy, childhood and adolescence.
- Encouragement of educational programs through alliances with professionals and community organizations.
- Recognition of excellence in research, education and communication leading to nutrition behaviour change.
